The sun bursts over the horizon with clouds layering the valley below in Pisgah National Forest.
For this shot, I raced to the blue ridge early in the morning, leaving my house at 3:30 am, with the hopes of getting to the Blue Ridge Parkway before sunrise. The sunrise I witnessed was one of the most vibrant and spectacular I've experienced on the parkway. With the sun bursting above the horizon, a layer of fog and mist sat calmly in the valley below.
